The role holder will be primarily responsible for the management of the Real Estate Portfolio and strategy. The individual will also be responsible for all components of property risk.
Key Accountabilities:
- Act as an expert referral point for Operations strategy as it relates to property, premises, facilities management and Health and Safety disciplines
- Contributes to the annual and long-term planning and strategy sessions for Operations in the country
- Own the Real Estates financial budget and identify initiatives for reducing costs and initiate projects to implement cost-saving measures
- Manage Real Estates risk and comply risk management guidelines
- Maintain proper governance and controls relating to property management and procurement activity, which are complaint with organisation's guidelines
- Develop, agree and apply appropriate supporting property standards, e.g. density of occupation, reusable standard layouts, etc
- Drive change initiates and re-negotiate stretching Service Level Agreements with suppliers to ensure the internal customer service bar is continuously raised
Required Skills or Experience
Knowledge & Expertise:
- Ability to identify value destroyers within the process chain or add value to the end to end services offered
- Familiarity with property rental values, property service costs, valuation models, market benchmarks, etc
- Good awareness of developments in property strategy across external marketplace
- Detailed understanding of building design and operational standards
- Experience of corporate real estate portfolio management
Experience & Qualification:
- Tertiary qualification in the building sciences
- Advanced Finance and Accounting knowledge
- At least 5 years at a senior level in a corporate real estate environment preferably in a multi-national organisation
- Proven experience in project management
- Experience of strategic planning and financial planning environments and tools
