The University of Mines and Technology (UMat) has technical opportunities and jobs in Ghana to recruit for Senior Technician (Geological Engineering Department). We were established in November 2004. It was actually started in 1952 as the Tarkwa Technical Institute. In 1961, it was reorganized to become the Tarkwa School of Mines to train the required manpower for the mining and allied industries in Ghana. It was later in 1976 affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi as a faculty of the University. In 2001, it became the Western University College of KNUST. Today the campus is poised to meet the challenges of the 21st century as the University of Mines and Technology. The vision of the University is to become a Centre of Excellence in Ghana and Africa for producing world-class professionals in the field of mining, technology and related disciplines. The mission of the University is to provide higher education with special reference to mining and related fields; promote knowledge through active research; and provide professional services to the national and international communities through extension activities.
