AYRTON DRUG has top/senior management engineering opportunities in Ghana to recruit for Head of Engineering. We were incorporated On the 24th Septemter 1965 by the Late Mr. Samuel Benson Adjapong. A Ghanaian Entrepreneur and the first Ghanaian Chief Pharmacist at the Ministry of Health. He was issued a certificate to commence business on 21st october 1965. The company's journey to stardom began in a small plant in Kokomlemle a suburb of Accra with a tablet making machine and a staff of ten(10). It moved to its current location on the Abeka Road, Tesano also in Accra in 1969.
During the years 1970-1982, when many manufacturing companies in Ghana were operating on the margin due to the harsh economic conditions, Ayrton kept alive the hope of becoming a force in the pharmacuetical industry in Ghana with a about 30 product lines.

Reports to the General Manager (Technical)
Scope:
The Head of Engineering will lead a team of technicians (Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronic) to ensure uninterrupted operation of all Pharmaceutical machines and utilities. Accountable for breakdown and preventative maintenance, utilities, services, audit compliance, machine down time, cost of maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance and team development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct engineering activities requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Execute cost reduction and productivity improvement projects
- Conduct training for operations maintenance personnel. Maintain knowledge of cGMPs, safety practices and environmental standards among the team members
- Responsible for project/task level conformance to quality of work, schedule and budget
- Responsible for design, budgeting and execution of small to medium engineering projects
- Develop Project Plans, Charters, schedules and associated documents under the supervision of Management
- Assist in the development, implementation, and supervision of cost control programmes within the department
- Maintain and update inventory of spares

Required Skills or Experience
- BSc. Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- A minimum of 7 years engineering experience and preferably with at least 3 years experience in a managerial role. Experience in a pharmaceutical environment would be a distinct advantage
Competencies:
- High proficiency in computer applicants (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internal skills)
- Good leadership and people management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skill
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Be self motivated, have ability to analyse and write good reports
- Be willing to work extra hours
