Responsibilities: The Successful candidate will be responsible for: - Developing and administering programs to prevent accidents/incidents and loss.
- Managing weekly, monthly and yearly HSLP internal and external reporting processes.
- Mentoring and motivating HSLP coordinators to help increase their knowledge and skill levels within their area of work.
- Hazard identification, risk management, safety rules and regulations, trends and statistics as well as legal compliance to Inspectorate division.
- Managing, reviewing and auditing all accident/incident reporting and investigation process to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are appropriate to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop an audit program, conduct audits and manage the internal audit process for the IMS and HSLP Technical Standards.
- Liaising with the Mines Inspectorate division for investigation required.
- Maintaining awareness and understanding Environmental and Social Responsibility

Required Skills or Experience Qualifications and Skills: As the successful candidate, it is essential you possess the following skills and experience: - Master's, Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention is highly preferable.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working in the health and safety field in an extractive industry or minimum of 10 years health and safety experience is required with 2 years management experience if you have no Degree. However continuing HSE educational programs is essential.
- Thorough understanding of Safety Management Systems including OHSAS 18001.
- Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes.
- Must have accident/incident investigation experience
- Auditing qualifications desirable.
- Must have excellent report writing skills coupled with strong presentation, organizational and communication skills.
- Must be competent in MS Office software.
- Must possess a driver's License.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislative is a requirements
