Responsibilities: The Successful candidate will be responsible for: Developing and administering programs to prevent accidents/incidents and loss. Managing weekly, monthly and yearly HSLP internal and external reporting processes. Mentoring and motivating HSLP coordinators to help increase their knowledge and skill levels within their area of work. Hazard identification, risk management, safety rules and regulations, trends and statistics as well as legal compliance to Inspectorate division. Managing, reviewing and auditing all accident/incident reporting and investigation process to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are appropriate to prevent reoccurrence. Develop an audit program, conduct audits and manage the internal audit process for the IMS and HSLP Technical Standards. Liaising with the Mines Inspectorate division for investigation required. Maintaining awareness and understanding Environmental and Social Responsibility Policy Required Skills or Experience Qualifications and Skills: As the successful candidate, it is essential you possess the following skills and experience: Master's, Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention is highly preferable. Minimum of 8 years of experience working in the health and safety field in an extractive industry or minimum of 10 years health and safety experience is required with 2 years management experience if you have no Degree. However continuing HSE educational programs is essential. Thorough understanding of Safety Management Systems including OHSAS 18001. Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes. Must have accident/incident investigation experience Auditing qualifications desirable. Must have excellent report writing skills coupled with strong presentation, organizational and communication skills. Must be competent in MS Office software. Must possess a driver's License.
