JOB SUMMARY Company: Chirano Gold Mines Industry: Mining Category: Engineering Location: Bibiani Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: First Degree Experience: 15 years Job Expires: 01 Feb, 2013 Job Description Supervises daily mechanical maintenance and modification works in the section. Formulates plans and allocate required manpower for all maintenance related works and maintains smooth and continuous operation within the section. Prepares estimates and quotes on repairs for work to be carried out in the workshop where applicable. Responsible for Preventative Maintenance Planning and Scheduling. Promotes and monitors maintenance works on site to ensure compliance with Health, Safety  and Environmental Standards Ensures the implementation of all corrective actions from Safety and Environmental Audits. Supervises all maintenance Personnel in the Workshop. Supervises and controls all activities by Sub-Contractors in the workshop. Ensures Personnel at the section are adequately trained, equipped and motivated for work to be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost effective manner. Assists the company to achieve mining and production targets through the timely completion of projects by demonstrating knowledge in interpreting & understanding of plans, drawings and schedules to achieve planned outcomes. Will be responsible for the management of Field and Shop Crews Performs any other related duties assigned.  Required Skills or Experience Must possess a Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with at least fifteen (15) years working experience in a supervisory position. Must be a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic. Must have experience on Cummunis generators, CAT/ Atlas Copco/ Sandvik/ Tamroc drills and Volvo equipment. Must have working knowledge on CAT, Volvo and Sandvik diagnostics Programmes. Must have a committed attitude towards onsite Health & Safety standards. Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Acts & Regulations. Must have the ability to lead, motivate and get the best performance out of subordinates Must be a computer literate – MS Office Suite. Must have good working experience on Maintenance Planning & Scheduling. Must have Planning & decision making skills.
