JOB SUMMARY Company: Chirano Gold Mines Industry: Mining Category: Mining/Petroleum Location: Bibiani Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: First Degree Experience: 5 years Job Expires: 01 Feb, 2013 Job Description Chirano Gold Mines Limited, a subsidiary of Kinross Gold Corporation, is currently seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join their Technical Services team at Chirano Gold Mine. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating the optimal extraction of gold ore from the underground mining operations at Chirano by providing mine planning and scheduling expertise to achieve medium to long term production and development targets ensuring maximum return to the business in alignment with EHS standards. Key responsibilities will include; Securing the success of the mine by competently developing, communicating and distributing appropriate schedules and mine plans. Detailed analysis of current and future underground mining projects including detailed design and financial analysis along with Project planning, documentation and approvals Ensuring that all members of the mining teams have clear understanding and direction of Project objectives by leading and controlling the coordination of regular planning meetings, ensuring deliverables are accurately recorded and distributed Ensuring the business can make informed decisions by developing, analysing and presenting operationally sound options for mining of underground projects Establishing, improving and maintaining productive and constructive interpersonal relationships both internally and externally with business partners and consultants Ensuring maximum return on investment by carrying out optimisation, design and evaluation work, calculating ore reserves in accordance with established planning policies such as cut-off grades and legislative requirements; and, Contributing to the business' capability to mine safely by actively identifying risks and threats to achieving targets and developing, establishing and managing programs to ensure those risks are minimised or eliminated.
