JOB SUMMARY Company: Golden Star (WASSA) Industry: Mining Category: Mining/Petroluem Location: Tarkwa Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: University degree Experience: 5 years Job Expires: 06 Aug, 2012 Job Description Job Summary: Reporting to the Operations Manager(Technical), the Mine Planning Superintendent will lead a highly skilled technical support team to deliver superior services and support in an open pit operation at both Wassa and Hwini-Butre Benso (HBB) Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate shall be responsible for: Designing, developing, and implementing processes, systems, and technology to support and enhance the technical support functions of the organisation Supervising the annual preparation of the GSWL mineral reserves estimate and produce report in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Vice President, Technical Services Developing and setting up databases for the compilation of mining production statistics and report Provide the technical and professional input to ensure the development of mine plans and reserves, which optimises the economics of mining the Wassa ore bodies Developing mining schedules to ensure that ore bodies are mined in the most efficient and cost effective manner Developing, implementing and monitoring systems to ensure compliance with mining schedules Monitoring and reviewing mine infrastructural designs Managing specific projects Developing and monitoring programmes, and implementing employee performance management processes Remuneration: This is a management position and goes with a very competitive salary package and other fringe benefits Required Skills or Experience A Degree in Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
