YOU WILL REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE PLATFORM ENGINEERING MANAGER
Key Responsibilities include the following:
- Optimise platform applications and servers to improve performance
- Scaling platform services
- Capacity planning
- Database administration
- Platform Security
- Critically analysing platform components and planning for their availability**
Required Skills or Experience
Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSc in Computer Engineering or BSc/BA in Computer Science from a recognized and accredited tertiary institution (MSc is a plus)
- Oracle/MySQL DBA Certification required for database administration role
- In-depth understanding of UNIX/Linux operating system security and application security required for platform security role
- 1-2 years working experience for Level I, 2-5 years experience for Level II
- Extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux will be a significant advantage
- A strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
- Experience architecting and managing large-scale software systems a significant advantage
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Authorized to work in Ghana/Nigeria
Technical Skill Set:
- Programming experience
- Strong Algorithms
- SQL experience a plus, MySQL a plus
- Linux/Unix
- Experience with a dynamic language (Perl/Python/PHP) a plus
