- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers and the support services underground
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments and contractors to resolve matters affecting mine operations
- Comply, and ensure compliance, with established methodologies and quality standards related to mine operations while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches
- Oversee the safety of the underground mining operations to ensure compliance with, and training of Company, Regulatory and Contractor safety rules, policies, regulations and standard operating procedures
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
- Requisition materials and ensure availability of mining supplies
- Provide recommendations on personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
- Mentor or train less experienced employees on operating standards, procedures and methods
- Assist in development of short range mine plans to ensure they are realistic and achievable
- Prepare production and other reports as required
- Assist with special projects related to mine operations
- Provide assessment of safety and performance outcomes in coordination with the Shift Bosses and Mine Manager
- Other related duties as required
Required Skills or Experience - Degree and other professional qualification.
- Very honest person and ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to undergo training when required
