Job Description

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Identify potential breakdowns and conduct maintenance to all electrical equipment on site to limit downtime of equipment
  • Attend to reported breakdowns
  • Inspect new electrical installations to adhere to SABS standards
  • Installs, repairs, and maintain circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions

Please note these are TEMPORARY position for the duration of a construction project. 

Required Skills or Experience

Relevant qualification, certificates and experience as industrial electrician and HT cable termination on mining and construction projects.

  • Electrician trade test certificate and/or 3-5 years industry specific experience
  • Background in the electrical contracting industry will be an added advantage 

Work Experience:

  • 2 years practical experience as an electrician in the mining/construction industry
  • Proven knowledge of wiring code of practice 

Aptitude and Behavioural Competencies:

  • Must be energetic, self motivated and a hard worker
  • Able to work without constant supervision
  • Punctual, reliable and have sober habits
  • Strong physical and mental ability essential
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills
