Newmont Ghana Gold Limited recruits for the position of a Senior Geologist - Ahafo Mine. WE are a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the World's largest gold mining companies. Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for geologic/pit mapping, drill core or chip logging, drill hole planning, drill program execution, computer deposit modeling, hydrologic and metallurgical investigations at the Ahafo Mine. Essential Duties: Responsible for periodic updates of ore control model parameters Effectively communicate and represent the Mine Geology team's mission to the mining and other departments through presentations in production meetings Participate fully in technical geology in addition to any managerial or supervisory responsibilities Contribute to evaluation of exploration, development or acquisition opportunities in a significant area of exploration activity in a mine operation Provide training and growth opportunities in ore control model and production geology activities to challenge team members while accomplishing site and other objectives Budget preparation and submitta, cost tracking, completing projects on budget and within planned time frames, and achieve performance measures The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive Required Skills or Experience A first degree in Geology or related field knowledge of geological principles Typically has more than 8 years of industry experience in a mining or exploration environment Ability to lift and carry up to 45 Ibs of equipment and/or samples for distances up to five  (5) miles (8 kilometers) Good technical understanding in exploration, development and more especially mining geology How To Apply If you would like to be considered for this position, please send your application letter and current CV with references, indicating your e-mail address, telephone contact information to the address below: Human Resources Manager Newmont Ghana Gold Limited P.
