Job Description

Major Responsibilities:
To assist Geotechnical Engineering Superintendent with the investigations into producing and planned mining blocks, capital projects etc.

Details of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will assist the Geotechnical Engineering Superintendent to: 

  1. Carry out geotechnical investigations of various activities
  2. Collect relevant geotechnical data including Rock Mass Quality data for various Mining Blocks
  3. Carry out ground mine and support designs for all Mining Blocks
  4. Assist in collecting data for appropriate mining method selection and stope size designs, support for minimising dilution/premature failures. This will be based on the Stability Number and Hydraulic Radius calculations for the area
  5. Collect information on backfill for various stopes. Carry out quality control, where necessary
  6. Monitor ground conditions and support performance and issue reports
  7. Carry out kinematic analyses of rock blocks and wedges in and around underground excavations using available geotechnical software
  8. Install geotechnical instruments to monitor ground movements in and around underground excavations

Required Skills or Experience

  • BSc - Mining/Civil Engineering
  • At least Two (2) Years working experience in a similar capacity

Job Description

Reports to: Regional Audit Manager, West Africa (Functional) National Director (Administrative)

Purpose of the position:
To implement the WV independent management appraisal system for the office which provides management with the reasonable assurance that the financial and operational transactions are in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA), the US Government Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAGAS) for US Government Funding and World Vision's Financial Manual Internal Audit policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Develop audit plans for WVG office based on risk assessments. Communicate the audit dates, as appropriate, to management
  2. Ensure that the annual audit plan is fully executed and Issue reports, within allotted timeframe, of audit results from all internal audits and special investigations carried out
  3. Ensure that audit programs and work practices are in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA), the US Government Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAGAS) for US Government Funding and World Vision's Financial Manual Internal Audit policies and procedures
  4. Advise management on the formulation of risk management strategies and policies and all operations areas of the organization with a view of ensuring all management policies adequately mitigate the risks identified - this role will not include the development of the actual policies and systems
  5. Provide line management and leadership to team members by supervising internal auditors as they carry out performance and procedural audit of all office functions and projects and, when necessary, participate in such audits
  6. Review WV Ghana office financial systems and report on compliance with the WVI Financial Policies and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Practices
  7. Develop a system to ensure the quality of work done by the internal auditors is regularly reviewed and appraised and corrective action taken when necessary
  8. Plan for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for all Internal Auditors, either as individuals or as a team by facilitating their attendance at professional seminars and trainings by maintaining 80 units every two years (with 24 in US government accounting/auditing)
  9. Regularly provide summaries of audit results and trends to management, Regional Audit Manager, Audit Committee, Global Centre (GC), and Support offices and in subsequent audits, determine that audit recommendations have been tracked and implemented by management
  10. Lead special duties or Assist on international audit assignments as required by WVGC Audit & Evaluation Department

Required Skills or Experience

  • A Chartered Accountant. Masters degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years in related field desired

Technical Training Qualifications Required:

  • Must have good working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably Sun Systems & Vision

Job Description

Purpose of the position:
To support the Chief Audit Executive in review and audit of projects and programs to ensure the promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for which the funds were given, and ensure such audits are in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA), the US Government Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAGAS) for US Government Funding and World Vision's Financial Manual Internal Audit policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of organizational operations using professional audit standards and practices
  2. Examine various departmental records and interview staff to ensure accurate recording of transactions and compliance with the World Vision International policies and procedures
  3. Inspect accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value in the recording and management of organization resources
  4. Review records pertaining to fixed and movable assets to determine degree to which they are effectively, efficiently and economically utilized
  5. Analyse data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in internal controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, and non-compliance with country laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures
  6. Conducts compliance reviews of organization records to ensure compliance with Government Statutory requirements in areas including but not limited to taxation laws, employment law and any other applicable local requirements
  7. Conducts special reviews/investigations as directed
  8. Prepare reports of audit results and recommendations to management using good written skills
  9. Obtain the requisite Continuous Professional Education (CPE) of 80 credits each 2 years
  10. Assist CAE on international audit assignments and other assignment as required by WVPO Audit & Evaluation Department

Required Skills or Experience

  • University degree in any of the business subject (Accounting and Management preferred)

Technical Training Qualifications Required: 

  • Must have good working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably Sun Systems & Vision

Professional Accounting Qualifications:

  • CPA, ACCA, CA or other internationally recognized accounting qualification will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • 3 years working experience in any Finance and/or Audit roles
